My 7th Letter To You

Hello friend,

How was the week? Were you kind to yourself? I hope so.

It’s important to try and remember what you can do to light up your soul. The things that make us happy, the things that soothe us and help us let go of whatever we are hanging onto tightly.

What is it that you’re hanging onto? Can you let it go for a while? It might be there when you return, or it might have gone and it’s possible, that was what it was supposed to do all along. How many things do we hang onto that we don’t really need? Emotional, physical, mental.

I changed my phone settings, after reading this article. It’s been pretty great actually. I am using my phone as a tool, not as an entertainment system. I think if you do these tips it might help you start to reach a few of those summits you have set for yourself. You don’t have to either, but it’s just an idea.

I wanted to remind you that you matter. I know that sometimes you think you have no influence or voice or impact but you do, you really do. You were born because we didn’t have one of you and we needed one. You came into creation to do something, help people, the world, bring something wonderful to it with your ‘youness’. Who are you to say that you don’t matter? You have no idea how much you have mattered, and I mean that. You don’t know how your actions have changed peoples lives.

What you have done so far will have an effect for an eternity and that is beautiful. Keep being the best version of yourself, so you can keep being the best you can, which is what we need.

I wish you could see yourself the way I see you, the way others see you. I am proud of you, and I am proud of you continuing to survive despite how hard it is at times and how you thrive despite it all.

I am going to see my friends mother read her own poetry at a pub today where she is Poet In Residence. I am unsure if I know anyone as inspiring as my friend. He is the epitome of grace and does the work more than anyone else I know. Always being a standup guy in a sit down world. Aren’t we lucky to have friends? I am often doubting myself as a friend but I have many of them, so I can’t be so bad. I think it’s important you check the facts on these thoughts so they don’t become second nature to second guess yourself.

You are loved. You matter. You’re okay.

Speak soon.

Kate
